The TED conference is a wondrous thing — kind of brain and sensory summer camp for adults, albeit gray rainy summer camp in April in Vancouver, Canada.
I was in the audience at TED, and I held a lot of the same sentiments as you… It felt like whiplash to go from Malala’s bravery and inspiration to this technology, which could so easily be used for destructive purposes
Glad you’re working on the important work of data privacy with “Privacy Protector”. The drones talk was a harrowing reminder of what can happen when our data is used for surveillance. I am also passionate about how AI companies are using our data to train algorithms, and the need to raise awareness about the power of #optingout
If there is a saving grace it’s that the creepiness and political agenda of those who are using tech to consolidate power in the hands of the few are shockingly not sly about their aims.
